The book is set in 1940's during holocaust. Its about a boy, Bruno, who comes home one day only to discover that he has to leave Berlin and go to another place because of his father's job. The main thing that bothered him the most was leaving his three best friends for life. What he discovers in the new place and how it changes his life is the rest of the story.

My View/Take:-

A gruesome act that killed millions and millions of people for belonging to a section that was considered wrong, depicted through the innocent eyes of a 9 year old.
It shows the innocence of a child who doesn't understand why he and his family are on the one side of the fence. when rest of them are on the other side, why there are differentiations. A reader should definitely read this book. This book is a good read and is written in a beautiful way. Also, the English used is simple and easy to understand. There are many books depicting the stories of people who survived holocaust, people who were killed in it. but this book could be called as a good start.
